WOMEN

Valorie N. Parker, Businesswoman and Author, will be hosting her 5th Annual Soul of a Woman Retreat, "Living with Power & Passion", benefiting Domestic Abuse, August 20th-21st 2010 in Orlando, Florida, at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. The retreat will focus on issues and concerns of both Men and Women. The opening dinner will feature Carlos Malone, Speaker and Author of "The Rib Connection". Workshops on August 21th will feature Tawana Williams, author of "Unarmed but dangerous" Tawana is a motivational speaker born without arms. Ken Brown, Businessman & Author of "Life through the Arches, Pam Powell, Motivational Speaker of the "P" Factor, Shirley Carter, with Against All Odds, and more. Some topics will include: How to have a "P" Attitude, The Power of Purpose, No Finance-No Romance, Surviving the Odds, The Rib Connection, Let your Health be your Wealth, and more. Men and women will have separate workshop during "Rap Sessions" so that individuals may have liberty to express themselves freely. This retreat is for single and married individuals (all welcome). Valorie is currently the President and CEO of Arise by VNP and Associates, Inc., a Speaker's Bureau and Public Relations Company. She founded The Soul of a Woman Foundation, assisting women and children living in domestic abuse situations and empowering the community in South Florida.
Her literary debut began in June 2005, when she released her book, "From the Soul of a Woman, Love Shouldn't Hurt". This is her true story as a former minister's wife who raised her four children in the midst of a nineteen-year abusive marriage, and goes on to become a successful businesswoman, author, and speaker. June 2007, Valorie, released her second book, "Unveiling Secrets from the Heart, Forgiving your Past to free your Future". and Peace

---For over a decade, Valorie
Parker has been booking
internationally renowned
motivational speaker, Les
Brown. As CEO of Arise by VNP,
she has assisted him in getting
speaking engagements all over
the world. Now, Parker is
stepping from behind the scenes,
as she picks up the mike
herself, and launches an
enriching and empowering
ministry with her two friends:
Sylvia Dunnavant, and Shirley
Carter.
“When
Les is speaking he says he hears
the voices of the people. Well,
I don’t hear voices, but I feel
the spirits of the people
whenever I am in a room. Over
the years of traveling with Les,
I have been so overwhelmed with
the internal crying out of so
many people, because there are
so many broken people out there
just waiting to be spiritually
healed, “says Parker, who after
19 years of being in a domestic
abusive marriage definitely
understands being spiritually
broken.

will be launching their
empowering ministry called
Grace, Mercy and Peace on
Wednesday, November 5th
at New Vision International
Ministries, in Bridgeport,
Connecticut were Pastor Derek L.
Calhoun is the Senior Pastor.
The event will be a part of
Pastor Calhoun’s Ninth Year
Church Anniversary Celebration.
“Women today are by default
going through a plethora of
known and hidden issues created
by the dysfunctional family
system and the lack of male or
fatherly influence in our
communities. In this myriad of
wounded frontline soldiers
emerges a “D.E.N.” of women with
the fighting spirit of Deborah;
the courage of Esther and the
wisdom and stamina of Naomi.

There
is no doubt that these three
women who have developed a close
friendship over the years are
excited about taking some of
their personal life testimonies
to help women across the country
walk in victory.

three of us have been through so
much. Valorie has survived
domestic abuse, Shirley is a two
time breast cancer survivor, and
I have just simply learned how
to survive and celebrate life in
the midst of tragedy. We decided
to come together, so that we can
help all women walk in the
victory that God has given us,”
says Dunnavant.
